Richard J. Busch - Attorney

Experience

Rich understands that clients expect and deserve business focused legal advice. Starting in 1978, Rich has worked in law, marketing and sales management in the communications industry. He understands firsthand the need to deliver legal and business advice that is practical and helps clients achieve their business objectives.

Rich focuses his practice on communications and real estate law, and has over 30 years of experience in communications law and management. Rich has represented the wireless and landline communications industries on leases, access rights, land use, regulatory and dispute resolution matters. He has appeared before city and county councils to discuss the deployment of wireless communications facilities in our communities, and before hearings examiners in land use proceedings. Finally, Rich is a registered lobbyist in Washington and Oregon.

Education

Rich graduated from the University of Utah College of Law in 1981, and from the University of Washington’s Executive MBA program in 1990.

Recognition

Rich has been honored by his peers by being selected as one of The Best Lawyers in America in Communications Law in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, and one of Seattle’s Best Attorneys in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Community

Rich is the Treasurer and the founding President and Board Member of the Northwest Wireless Association which has served Washington, Oregon and northern Idaho since 2007. The NWWA is one of approximately 25 state-based wireless associations which are dedicated to educating governmental agencies and the public about wireless communications networks, giving back to our communities through charitable giving, and providing opportunities for the network deployment professionals to network with each other.

Rich is a volunteer attorney through the Disaster Legal Services Clinic, offering support for victims of natural disasters.
